David Cameron has announced his new look cabinet and its rather unexciting the only good news is that Ken Clarke has gone leaving us to wonder how did he get the job in the first place He does remain as a minister without portfolio so he cant do any damage and as a sop to the old wing of the party. George Osborne who as chancellor has killed off the small recovery that was happening when he took over and has shoved us back into recession is still inexplicably Chancellor.  Finally expenses fraudster David Laws has been given a small role a junior education minister. Is this a tacit admission that Nick Clegg and David Cameron approve of or at least turn a blind eye to fraud. the rest is minor people moving into minor roles.

The economies death spiral by George Osborne a history graduate who doesn't know history.

As the graph on this BBC article shows the economy was starting to recover in the end of 2009 then this coalition was elected and within six months started their policy off economic slash and burn AKA austerity.

The depression is continuing with the government trying to blame everyone and everything from the jubilee to the weather. Indeed they are blaming everything except their own incompetence.

History has shown us that Austerity has never worked from japans decades long recession to the great depression between the wars austerity fail and it fails massively. During the great depression Britain enacted austerity measures whilst Roosevelt instigated the new deal and invested in the USA as a result the united states climbed out of depression and became the worlds strongest economy whilst Britain remained in depression.  George Osborne as a history graduate should know this.

The only conclusion is that the Chancellor is trying to continue the recession and there can be only one reason for deliberately continuing the recession. In a recession even more money than usual is concentrated in the richest 1% which just so happen to include the chancellors tax avoiding family as well as a significant number of Conservative backers. It is quite clear that the Tories are now destroying the economy for personal gain.

Tories day of spin over lords reform and Nick Cleggs stupid mistake

Today Tory tweeters are all agog trying to spin Nick Cleggs blocking of boundary changes (gerrymandering) in retaliation for the Tories betrayal over Lords reform as some sort of betrayal.

 They are trying to claim that the boundary redrawing is linked to the AV referendum. However if you look at the coalition-agreement there are absolutely no  linked agreements i.e AV for Lords reform. it is an all encompassing agrement. The Tories broke the agreement so the whole thing is now binned.

However i can have no sympathy for  the Lib Dems they made a deal with the devil and the devil is a much better liar than they are. It was very naive off Nick Clegg to believe that the conservatives would ever keep to their end of the agrement. Their entire philosophy is I got mine screw you.

Good news. Louise Mensch has a temper tantrum over being denied ministerial job and resigns

One of the biggest embarrassments in parliament Louise Mensch is to resign triggering a by-election that is expected in early November.

Louise Mensch main contributions to British politics has been to lie about hacking in Piers Morgan's biography to try and take attention from Murdoch's news corp (when you make Peirs Morgan look good you really are worthless). To shill for Rupert Murdoch during the phone hacking scandal . She also held hypocritical positions about abusive twitter messages. Supporting a man from her constituency who was cleared on appeal of Twitter abuse yet also making a successful complaint about someone who posted abusive messages about her.

With her resignation the honesty quotient  of parliament will increase. Her resignation supposedly because it has become difficult for her to balance work and family life has come just a few months after she demanded a ministerial job. It looks like that as she was denied this she threw a tantrum and resigned to cause maximum damage to David Cameron as it is very likely that the Tories will loss the by-election.

This is nothing but good news for Parliament democracy and the nation and hopefully the people of Corby will get a real MP and with a bit of luck it will be normal women who can inspire young girls to get into politics rather than turn them off like Louise Mensch must have done.

Mitt Romney's visit to the UK has become a complete shambles it always amusing to see light weight American politicians outside their own country they always look terrible and make you realise that even a mediocrity like Cameron looks good compared to Mitt Romney. This is a politician who "retroactively resigned" from Bain Capital to try and avoid questions about his awarding of Olympic contracts to his own companies and who won't release his tax returns the contents of which are so bad that John McCain chose Sarah Palin ahead of Mitt Romney to be his running mate. The Guardian has a timeline of MittRomney's day of shame. i will leave you with this comment from a member of fark which sums Romney up very well.

We need a new chancellor this one's broken

It has always been obvious that from the first moment he was in the job that George Osborne was not capable of being able to perform as chancellor. He was to weighed down by discredited principles that have always failed from Japans eternal recession to Britain in the 70's and 80's austerity does nothing except damage the economy and make the rich richer. As his family are one of the largest tax avoiders in this country it is clear that he will never plug the loopholes that allow billions to be siphoned out of the British economy.

Government announce extremely dangerous plan for sex offenders

The Government plans to roll out mandatory "lie detector" tests for sex offenders. The idea is that sex offenders are more likely to admit if they have broken conditions of their release such as contacting their victims. Also offenders on the trial reported that it helped them mange their behaviour and this is where the problem begins "lie detectors" are easily beaten -there results are inadmissible as evidence for precisely this reason- by just about anyone with a tiny smidgen of brain, this will allow sex offenders to easily lie and be believed, lies such as lie detectors help them to control their behaviour. This idea will end in tears and a national disgrace in a few years with some sex offenders being given a free reign to offend again.

The main difference between liberals and conservatives

LIberals believe that feeding hungry children is important enough that we accept that a few people will game the system and get school meals that their children don't qualify for. Conservatives are willing to accept that a lot of children go hungry in order to make sure no one gets something they don't deserve.

G4S scandal shows the danger of placing principles over morals

Conservative principles say that everything the public sector can do the private sector can do a better job than the police. A moral approach is to say who can deliver the best security and the inevitable answer is the police there is no organisation in the country more competent or experienced at providing security and it is them that should be running this with support from a variety of security companies not just one.

Unfortunately Conservative principles say that it is the private sector that is better at everything so the experts where sidelined for a bunch of expensive clowns with a bad reputation. Having private companies run services is as mad as nationalising the car industry both have been done from principles and both are abject failures.

Nick Buckles of G4S was asked why they are still claiming the fee despite their massive cockup his reply was "in principle it is part of the contract" once again principles trump morals. Principles are a cancer in politics it is time for politicians to do what is right not what matches there principles.
