Is this the future of the NHS under the Tories?

Read the story here about an American bar tender who was stabbed 8 times while he escorted a customer home and now he has a massive medical bill. He has to pay $8,000 for just the helicopter ride that saved his life. This sadly what happens when medicine is privatised it cost a lot more it is restricted and brave people who put themselves on the line for others have their lives ruined. Welcome to the future of the NHS under the Tories it will be just like America where children die from curable disease because their parents are poor. This all happens in the name of greed a handleful profit from suffering whilst hundreds die it is a disgrace and must never happen here.

Attempts to privatise health care

Politics.co.uk reports on a worrying piece of legislation that would promote competition to the NHS and could end up privatizing health care in this country. This would further increase the level of middle managers who cost a lot but add no value to the patient. Quite possibly the best quote about this is from Dr Hamish Meldrum, chairman of council at the BMA "The role of the regulator should not be to enforce potentially damaging competition but to ensure comprehensive, high quality care and to protect patients” Regulators should not be there to promote one group over another they are there to ensure high standards nothing else. If a group needs to be promoted (i.e. private health companies) over another so that they are competing on an equal footing then there is something drastically wrong with that group.

Private health care is already competing and losing against the NHS it costs more and delivers the same because private companies have an greater obligation to shareholders than to customers (the patients) this legislation is just there to help prop up a business sector that is profitable enough anyway and worringly is a from of social engineering to make it easier bring in healthcare privatisation so we have a second rate system similar to the American model of health “care”.

NHS wasted £4 million on treatments that don’t work.

Today MPs are calling for NHS funding for 2 homeopathic hospitals be stopped. The NHS spends £4million supporting these hospitals whose treatments have failed to show any benefit in clinical trial after clinical trial. The Government should not allow homeopathic “treatments” to be sold let alone support them until it is proven that they work, something which has so far proved impossible. If homeopathy is correct the NHS should only spend £10 on these hospitals as it would be more effective than £4million

• Samuel Hahnemann, a German, is crediting with inventing homeopathic medicine in 1796
• Remedies are prepared by repeated dilution of an active ingredient. The most dilute preparations are meant to be the most potent
• Doses are measured on the centesimal or “C scale”, whereby a substance is diluted by a factor of 100 at each stage. Typical strength is 30C — diluted by a factor of 10 followed by 60 zeros
• Poisons, including arsenic and deadly nightshade, are used as remedies but in such dilute form that even a large dose would be harmless
• The European homeopathy industry is valued at £1.5 billion
