Today there is the sad news that a Trans Women has committed
suicide after being hounded by the Daily mail and some of its low brow readers
who also had children at the school. Now it cannot be said that Richard
Littlejohn is directly or even solely responsible but nor can it be denied that
such senseless, twisted and pointless
attacks against someone in the national media and a difficult time in their lives
would contribute to depression. Depression that ultimately lead to her suicide.
The Daily mails first reaction to this news was the delete
the Richard Littlejohn article. This attempt to cover their tracks could be
seen as admission that there article was an irresponsible attack on someone
were there was no public interest.
"Nathan Upton is entitled to his
gender reassignment surgery, but he [sic] isn't entitled to project his
personal problems on to impressionable young children.
Good thing she didn't project and problems onto the children she taught and
cared for. The Children will certainly be more tolerant understanding than
Littlejohn and his followers, that sort of Bigotry needs to be learned.
By insisting on returning to St Mary
Magdalen's, he [sic] is putting his [sic] own selfish needs ahead of the
well-being of the children he [sic] has taught for the past few years.
in no way are children harmed by this only a twisted bigot would believe
otherwise.
It would have been easy for him [sic]
to disappear quietly at Christmas, have the operation and then return to work
as 'Miss Meadows' at another school on the other side of town in September.
No-one would have been any the wiser.
Yes, but why should she?
But if he [sic] cares so little for
the sensibilities of the children he [sic] is paid to teach, he's not only
trapped in the wrong body, he's [sic] in the wrong job [sick]."
Utter bullshit dishonesty is the only way to describe that. Richard Little
John you are a sleazy man you personally are a greater threat these children
than Lucy Meadows was.
The petition organiser states:
"No
one deserves to have their lives turned upside down for their gender identity
being thrown into the national spotlight.
"The reason the parents who had a
problem went to the Daily mail is that there was no way to get her fired under
equal opportunity law. So they tried to give the school bad press by saying how
terrible it is that she is allowed to live her life freely."
This is ultimately what it comes down to Daily Mail Readers and writers all
want to have control over others and when they can't they hound them in the public.
I'm pretty sure that what they wanted was for her to resign rather than commit
suicide but unfortunately this is too often the result of the bigotry and
hatred shown by sleazy little dictators like Richard Littlejohn.
Apart from a few aberrations children are for the most part born with greater
compassion, understanding and caring than a lot of adults. It takes sleazy
adults like Richard Littlejohn to teach them bigotry.
I will leave the final word to another transgender teacher
who shows why it is highly likely that Richard Littlejohn has a lot to do with
this suicide

missed me coming out as a transsexual primary teacher 2 years ago. Want to know
my biggest fear - bigots like you in the media making a big thing of it. The
children were told and everyone was very supportive of my decision and were
full of understanding and compassion. The children were not phased by it and
have readily accepted it. Parents were very supportive as well. Good luck to
Lucy in her decision. I look forward to the day we can be left in peace.
