This article has a rather sad story today, about a Girl who has suffered addiction to alcohol and Heroine. The realy sad thing about this story is that she blames canabis for her own actions. This is an unfortunate and common part of addiction. The realisation that the only person or thign that has control over you is yourself is an important part of getting well again sadly the sun is instead encoraging this damaging behaviour for its own ends that is abuse.
"My problems started with alcohol. I moved on to cannabis, then cocaine, and eventually heroin. It's a typical progression for an addict."
So, what happened here? Legal marijuanna laws hopped into the magical time machine, went back to when she was 14 and put a joint in her already drunken mouth?
Take some farking responsibility for your life. If you are an addict, that's on you. You farked up. Your parents farked up. Instead of living your life you sought out escapes from it.
Pot didn't ruin your life. Neither did heroin or cocaine or alcohol. YOU RUINED YOUR LIFE.
This is the first lesson people like this have to learn if they ever want to actually get there life on track.

Its rather sad but until she accepts responsibility and
recognises it was her own behaviour that lead to addiction then she will never
really get better and always be at danger of backsliding. Also why did you
gloss over the fact she started smoking at 14 and was a good enough student to
get a scholarship at 17. So she had been smoking for 3 years and still a good
student.
Unfortunate fact is she was depressed after her father died
and went into a self destructive cycle. Cannabis had nothing to do with this
other than it was the least destructive of the substances she chose to indulge
in.
Once again she has to take responsibility for her actions
and shame on the sun for using this poor girl and encouraging this damaging denial
for the sake of making money.
